rollingstone: Whitney Houston’s death last night at the age of 48 came as a shock to everyone, but it was especially gutting for those at her mentor Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles, where she was scheduled to attend. Rolling Stone was on the scene at the Beverly Hilton, where Davis told his guests “She was so looking forward to tonight even though she wasn’t scheduled to perform. She loved music, and she loved this night that celebrates music.”
